P-Safe Working Group
Mission/Goal
To research and promote active safety technologies that can warn the driver or intervene by taking control of the vehicle to avoid or mitigate a crash.
These technologies, such as Electronic Stability Control (ESC) or Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB), monitor, vehicle dynamics and use sensors such as cameras, RADARs and LIDARs to monitor the traffic situation around the vehicle.
The P-Safe Working Group investigates the functionality and effectiveness of these systems and, where appropriate, formulates test procedures that can be applied within individual markets and insurance systems to rate and encourage their fitment.
